It has been some time sense I was last able to look in on the relm of Fair.

It is so good to see all of your faces once again.

this will probably be the last time I get to come back for a while. so I wish to say have a safe, happy, magical fair season.

by the time I get back home I will have missed everyone of the fairs in my area.

I will be leaving for Basic training and then AIT in two weeks.

it is the beginning a the greatest adventure of my life. (next to my children of course). the honor one feels in the service of their leader and their country is one of the most precious things ever.

I follow the path that has been well trodden by father, and his father before him. by my uncle, my brothers, my cousins, but I will be the first member of the gentler sex to be in the service of my country. it is a great honor both to myself and to my family.

so wish me luck as I start out on this great journy and have a extra round of mead or rum for me so that I will in some way have a place in the realm of Fair.

well it has happened,

what amounts to a midlife crisis in my generation of my family.

as each of us has hit the age of thirty (or are getting close) we all get the great idea to join the military.

its my turn. :)

the only one of my gen. that broke the mold is my younger brother, he joined when he was 21.

I come from a long line of military servicemembers. and I think it is one of the best things someone could do.

to serve my country is a great honor. and I am proud to join.

it is just that I am not an altogether athletic person. and getting ready to go to boot camp is killing me. I am terrified.

well anyway wish me luck, I think I will need it.
